All this is done on Facebook

My "friend" asked if I wanted to buy some badges from him. I had seen his so I said yes. I asked if I could pay postal order as I hate Paypal and he said fine and sent me his address.

I sent the PO and a letter telling him my address. This was in March. On the 3rd April I had asked if he had got the PO and the reply was this

Yeah, I dropped you a text! I'll get the badges out to you when it's cleared.

I am still waiting and even though I contacted him a few times. I have got no reply and no badges.

Is there anything I can do?

Cheers

Not a lot to be honest, was it much money? You might have had some fall-back had you used PayPal. The only thing you could try is reporting it to the police, you have his address still I take it?

Speaking as a subpostmaster I can advise as follows...

You will have been issued with a receipt that carries a unique code when you bought the order. Take it to any Post Office and they will be able to tell you if the postal order has been cashed you will need to complete a form P58.

Unless you asked for it to be crossed it will be able to be cashed at any Post Office and not necessarily paid into a bank account.

Either way the order is traceable.

HTH ;)

I confronted him on Facebook and he said he had been delayed and lost my address and asked for it to be sent again. So I sent the address again. This was on the 22nd April.

OnSaturday I asked if he had sent them and he said he did on Friday 24th April but nothing still.

Its only £15. Not much to most people but alot to me.

Some scammers target low £££ because of that attitude ;) People tend to not bother, but if it was £30... or £50 people would compalint but £15 is low enough not to bother but high enough for the scammer to bother!

The fact that he has replied to you and not ignored your message would make me think he is waitingfor the funds to clear. Give it till the end of the week and then send an E-mail if it still has not arrived.
