Could anyone please tell me how I can turn off the free voice mail on the landline number as it's driving me insane!!!

I've missed so many important calls from family/work over the past month or so because it's not even bothering to ring at my home and is just being sent to voice mail which is really irritating.

Any help to solve this problem would be appreciated :)

Have you called Customer Service? I think they can.
I totally agree - any 1471 voicemail service is a waste of time, since you only get notified of a waiting message if you check the dial tone. (And how often do you do that?)

Call 150 and ask to have it removed from your services. It will be removed within 24 hours.

Really? That easy? Will I have to speak to someone in India or will I get a UK person?

Thanks guys!

Depends on the time of day or night you call.

Any idea what is the best time to call to speak to someone in the UK?

Thought i'd update on the situation.

I called this morning and spoke to a nice Scottish guy who explained what had been happening with my voice mail and lifted it from my account and told me it would take 24 hours to be removed. He then told me my contract was up on the 4th May and I should phone up then to get a better deal.

He couldn't have been any nicer so well done Virgin for once :)

Quote......"Call 150 and ask to have it removed from your services. It will be removed within 24 hours."

Well that is really quick, as when we asked to have the free 1571 activated they said it would take a week?

Mind you, I'm not complaining, as its free, which is just as well, as the new phones we bought recently, didn't have a built in answer machine;)
