how do i check my connection?? been gonig erally slow lately.. an im wondering what it is,, no point calling them.. there say everything looks ok from our end, and there send someone out to look at it, and before he gets here, it will be working fine again.. so how do i actually check whats going wrong? my net has been crazy..

websites wont load... they load in low bandwidth mode.. they dont load properly.. what on earth??!

sounds like your connection is choked
are you running any torrents?do you have norton 360 on your machine?i ask because i am trying it at the moment and have noticed a definite lag in connection it's usually cleared by resetting my adapter

no torrents no norton... it was ok yesterday.... nothingh has been altered or installed..

are you using a router?if yes then try connecting direct to the modem and check your speed using http://www.speedtest.net/ if thats ok disable your av/firewall software then do the same test (do the test 3 times as it can take a couple of mins to build a connection up)you can also change the channel on your router if used as interference from phones can screw things up

it's a bit of a pain i know but i find that the easiest way to solve these probs is to start at the router an eliminate each piece of hardware/software as you go
