so i arrived in uk tonight and looking at the modem config of VM modem..

Downstream Lock : Locked
Downstream Channel Id : 183
Downstream Frequency : 402750000 Hz
Downstream Modulation : QAM256
Downstream Symbol Rate : 5360.537 Ksym/sec
Downstream Interleave Depth : taps32Increment4
Downstream Receive Power Level : -11.5 dBmV
Downstream SNR : 36.1 dB

is that 4mbit? because when i download it downloads at 2, but then the download Frequency makes it seem like it should be 4mbit? + what does that locked thing mean?

Your modem has a downstream lock, which it needs along with an upstream lock for you to get online.

Downstream Frequency 331000000 Hz is my frequency and has nothing to do with your download rate.

Bit Rate
20480000 bits/sec
Bit Rate
768000 bits/sec

also when you login intot he router the belkin one how do you chnge the wireless password? because last year when i was here i set one up i enterd ntl router http://192.168.100.1/
user/pass: root into the ie and it let me change settings, this time i try and it just has information and nothing else no change password or anything, its such a long password i cant figure out how to put something much shorter... connecting wirelessly but can connect with ethenet if its the wireless causing the problem

:) well im downloading @ 250kbytes so i am happy well apart from when my brother is playing wow and my mum is watching online cyprus tv episodes and using all the b/w and the ps3.... need faster lol

i cant seem to whoever find the option to change the wireless pass, last time it was easy but this time it seems to have vanished from the options, i mean during the summer when i placed the password or set it up it was the same router and modem and i used the same ip and password, i dont understand whats changed this time, only thing i can think is because of the wirelss

(Assuming you are a cable customer), http://192.168.100.1/ will only give access to the Virgin Media modem's information pages, not your router. Your wireless router will have a different address for accessing its configuration pages.

My Linksys router's configuration pages are accessed through http://192.168.1.1 (your Belkin router may have been set up to use a different address again).

It also uses a different user/password to root/root in order to access the configuration pages, before you even get to the wireless setup password.
