Has Vermin Media started blocking torrent sites? It would seem that many VM customers cannot access The Pirate Bay already. Has the rot started then?

Works ok here also
Working fine here so VM are NOT blocking it.
can't access it today but could yesterday so i think it's a problem with their site
probably the same problem this ones having loading it's pages very slowwwwww
Sounds like a routing issue.

can't be, other sites load ok more likely just heavy traffic

How about a trace and ping to said website. You may find help more forthcoming from those who work for VM if you don't refer to them or the company as vermin. ;)

My humble apologies, I wasn't referring to VM PEOPLE as vermin in any way. I myself have never had a bad experience with VM but I know many people who have, and this, combined with PMT, a bugger of a Monday and a bottle of wine may have made my judgement somewhat.....iffy. Again, my apologies guys.
BTW, how does one perform a trace and ping?

pirate bay is back up now
Start>Run>type in cmd and click ok.
Type ping thepiratebay.org
Press enter
Once thats finished
Type tracert thepiratebay.org
Press enter
martyh reports the site as being back up, perhaps the OP could try browsing to the piratebay :)
http://thepiratebay.org/ opens instantly for me and I am on 20Mb using Linux.

Wouldnt put it past someone to be carrying out a DOS Attack or similar.

Of course it has absolutely nothing to do with the current routing issue affecting browsing to sites not in the UK.
Try setting the proxy
address: webcache.virginmedia.com
port: 8080
in your internet options and see if you can then browse to it.

Okay had you going there for a microsecond - didn't I. Anyway, is there any need for such dipstickishness! :D
Systems working fine for me can get in no problem!
