What is the cheapest Sky+ package and how much do they charge for installation etc?

Can you get a sky+ box, just to watch the free channels?

Thanks

If you just want a free '+' service, for free-to-air channels only, you would be better off buying the Freesat+HD PVR. Sky's needs a subscription just to make the PVR functions work. The Freesat box doesn't.

Do sky still charge £99 for sky+ installation? ...I already have a sky dish and a sky box .

Thanks

You don't need the full installation work if you already have a dish, but unless the dish already has a dual LNB and two cables, it will need to have that fitted for a PVR to work properly.

You can arrange with a local independent aerial installer to do that for you. It should cost less than £99 as they won't be supplying much equipment.

Nice idea, but with a minimum contract of 12 months, at that rate you'd be paying Sky at least £318 when all you want is a PVR, no interest in any subscription channels. You can buy the Humax Freesat+HD box for less than that.

edit:

And if you stopped paying Sky your subscription after the first 12 months, the PVR functionality of the Sky box would stop working!
