We all know 2M will become 10M, will the 10M become 20Meg that they're going to pipe to my house through their 'fibre optic' cable that looks suspiciously like co-ax to me.

That's because it is coax, do you have any idea how expensive it would be to fibre to your house? They fibre to the main cabinets, not sure about smaller ones though, they might be coax to the bigger cabs.

The thresholds on downloading with be different between M-L but the speed will be 10mb for both.

No.

10mb customers on the L tier had a speed increase from 4mb in 2007.

Customers on the previous XL Broadband speed of 10mb were upgraded to 20MB in 2008.

Also even though the 2Mb speeds will up to 10Mb I think that there's a different STM for them??

Yes Kymmy, STM thresholds will be tighter on the lower 10mb tier.

That's reasonable.

No harm in asking although the 10 isn't as attractive now and I'll probably drop down to M after the change.

you can only go onto L (10mb), M (2mb>10mb soon) is no longer offered if your on L now you get 1.4gb between them times (only get 500MB or so on the m service be it 2mb or 10mb)

be good once every one is on 10mb as every ones computer i service i know they be on Min 10mb if there on cable

if your on the M service your Looking At 2mb even if your broadband is now 10mb and your on the M service (unless you moved to L or XL)

2mb will be available through a new 'S' Tier.

But it won't be worth having as it will cost almost as much as 10mb and the STM will be stupidly strict!

That contradicts virtually everything coming from psuedo-official sources since the M upgrade was announced.

M - 2mb will not longer be available and staff will not be able to sell it.

S - 2mb will be a deal closer for customers who really only require a basic basic connection. It isn't going to be marketed at all and it really is going to be pants, for want of a better word.

The S service will be worse than the current M 2mb tier easily.

Its just like at the moment VM sell 2mb 10 mb 20mb and 50mb...but some customers still have the 512k Capped broadband service, that is never sold by staff.
