have u downloaded a lot if so u could have been STM'd.

It could be worth a go posting on the newsgroups to see if theres any probs.

Wouldn't it be 5Mbps or just below if it was STM. A good indicator of STM is to check your upload speed. If it's around 700 kbps you're NOT STM'd and it's probably a fault or just high load on the UBR. Now if it's around 180ish kbps you're STM'd, try scheduling your downloads / upload a little better. For traffic management times and limits look here (http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html/internet/traffic.html)

Up and coming outages for Stoke (I'm assuming it's Stoke-on-Trent and not Stoke, North Devon :)) due to planned maintenance (I'm guessing 50Meg upgrade work) click here for details (http://status-cable.virginmedia.com/vmstatus/maintenanceissue.do;jsessionid=7342BE412C9199AE494 2D7FD4B642786.know-cdpapp1-2b:28009?ticket=160309)

Tis not 50Mbit work it's some general HFC maintenance and upgrade work. Should see improved signal quality once it's done.

OK, OK, no need to rub it in. Some of us 20Mb customers only dream of getting those sorts of speeds!

Actually, I take it back, I just speed tested to paste my usual 1 - 3 Mb speeds (90% of the time since Christmas) and I'm testing at slightly under 20Mb. Top speed since Christmas was a one off of 13Mb. I swear Virgin are trying to make me look stupid! I'm not getting my hopes up though, Virgin did this to me for a full week at Christmas before my speeds nosedived again to normal sub 2Mb levels.
