Some people have problems with Speedtest, I mean when I was on 20mb, I used to get only about 14mb on speedtests yet I got 20mb, so they aren't reliable and best thing to measure is when your downloading.

do you mean this site :
http://gamefiles.virginmedia.com/blueyondergames/demos/?C=S;O=D (if we use this site. it will quickly eat up your bandwidth usage before throttling kick in (stm)

Well yeah, but you only need it for a minute so it shouldn't affect you, or you could try it out when theres no STM on.

Are you really that bored mate? You can't use the BT Speedtester if you're on LLU let alone cable.

The DSL connection rate is taken from BT Wholesale information on the DSLAM / BRAS, the IP profile taken from the BRAS which DSL connections are going through.

It only works on IPStream DSL, nothing else.

http://speedtester.bt.com/ - do we see a small issue there, perhaps that it wants the telephone number of the DSL circuit, which it then checks to obtain the sync / IP Profile details?
