Upgraded from 2mb to 20mb last Friday, and since then the service runs fine during the day (but never at full speed... around 8-12 meg) but on an evening the service is almost unusable. We've never had problems before running 2-3 pc's and an xbox off our connection, until the switch to 20meg. Been in contact with VM and they said it was a problem at their end that they would sort within five days... thing is, the problem still exists. Just ran a speedcheck and it would appear that it's the upload speed that is the problem... as in an upload speed of 42kbps? Any thoughts?

As you've been a forum member since Feb 2006, what make/model of cable modem do you have some older models aren't 20Meg compatible.

Plus, large performance drop off peak time, generally points to high-tx loads (over subscribed UBR).

You could post your modem signal levels, just to check your modem out:
click this link http://192.168.100.1/, you should see one marked `Signal' go there and post the info on that page (power levels down and up stream and Signal to noise ratio for downstream). Someone will probably tell you if there's a problem with the figures.
