I have a reel of phone cable and some extension boxes and want to add another phone point in another room.I have access to run the cable under the floor to a point in another room(not master socket) .My question is can i just add the new cable to the exisiting point as if i was wiring a plug ie will have 2 sets of wires in each corresponding number in the socket i'm spurring from ?

I've never had a problem daisy chaining the phone extensions. You must of course ensure you have a good electrical connectio. Of course there is also a limit on the number of phones you can connect at once, if they are all to function correctly.

No special problems, you can chain, star, branch, whatever.

Only thing is, if it is a BT line carrying ADSL broadband, then you may need to be a little cleaner, ideally break the ADSL out with an ADSL faceplate and isolate the rest of the wiring from ADSL.
