View Full Version : On full XL package but been charged £15 extra (not £10) for 50Mbit!!!
Just got my latest bill and notice that I was charged £52  for a months 50Mbit BB as opposed to £37 for my 20 Mbit.
I was clearly told when I ordered that I would be charged an extra £10 pm and not £15.
Anyone else on the XL triple been charged an extra £15?

What do your discounts show?
Is the bill actually £15 more?
What discount do you now get? You should find that has increased by £5 - making it £10 more
Yes the bill is raised by £15
I was on XL TV\XL BB and Phone.
On the bill all other charges\discounts are the exactly the same but the BB last months was:
Broadband Size: X L 15 February - 14 March £37.00
This month it is:
XXL 50Mb Broadband 15 March - 14 April £52.00
BB XXL does show as £52 before discounts but as I said your discount should have increased to around £25 to make the overall advance charges £66
You need to phone Customer Services tomorrow

On the phone now - they are telling me that only VIP gets it for £10 extra Anyone on Ultimate Triple (XL BB\XL TV and talk Unlimited) it is £15 extra. She has checked with her supervisor and insists thats correct. Even though at the time of booking I was told it would be an extra £10!
So I'm paying £63 now as opposed to £48 last month - £15 extra.
They insist that teh Ultimate Triple is not part of the £10 extar deal as it already has a subsidy. Is this correct info?
Not happy as paying an £10 was really pushing it!
Phew - just spoken to a Manager and he has re gigged my package (do't ask me how) and my total discounts now mean I will be paying £10.50 more instead of £15! That will do!

So you are obviously not on Triple XL as the normal cost is £56. Triple XL with BB XXL is £66 so you are £3 better off than similar people.
I think you need to detail your bill here so people can give further explanation.
1) it is £10 extra on top of Triple XL, XL Plus and VIP
2) I'm not sure how you can pay £48 for the Triple XL unless you have Customer Relations deal for the three services - so in that case you would pay the £15 extra
Can you post the discount line from any previous bill?
If anyone else has a similar problem show them this http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html/bundles/triple-builder.html
Admittedly its post 1st May Prices so the Triple XL with 50Mbit is £68 rather than £66 - as it goes up by £2
But is says:
Broadband
Size XXL (http://allyours.virginmedia.com/websales/50Mb/index.do)
Up to 50Mb fibre optic broadband
TV
Size XL (http://allyours.virginmedia.com/websales/product.do?id=21)
Over 165 digital TV channels
Phone
Size XL (http://allyours.virginmedia.com/websales/product.do?id=10258)
Unlimited anytime UK landline calls
£45.50 a month* for the first 3 months,
£57 a month* after that.
12 month contract
* When you take a Virgin phone line (http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html/phone/phoneline.html) for £11 a month
So £57 + £11 = £68
1) it is £10 extra on top of Triple XL, XL Plus and VIP
2) I'm not sure how you can pay £48 for the Triple XL unless you have Customer Relations deal for the three services - so in that case you would pay the £15 extra

Sure.
My package is (was?) called the Ultimate Triple and was XL everything and cost £48 after a £21 discount. They stuck £15 on top of this when I got my 50Mbit putting up to £63 (with the same £21 discount) even though they told me I would only pay an extra £10.
However after speaking to a Customer Services Manager they have re gigged my package (don't know how) so I pay £10.50 more. That was achieved by increasing my discount to £25.50.
So now I will be paying £58.50 pm.

I can never work that out - I have L Broadband, XL Television, and M Telephone, plus an extra STB and a V+ Box.
It says my total would be £30 per month plus £11.00 for the phone line - that's £41.
Even if you allow the additional £15 for V+ plus STB that comes to only £56, whereas I generally pay around £68.
So why isn't my price matched to the same?

Have you rang Virgin to ask them if they can change the package?

I rang CS and they said all they could offer me was 20MB for an extra £1.50 per month, which is a waste really as I don't do that amount of downloading to warrant paying more.
I don't use the phone much - any calls I make are charged back to the company as well.

Sorry but what is your question?
Are you asking what you would pay if you were to upgrade your BB to XXL?
That depends on what package you are on today, i.e. your current deal price. If you can detail that then someone can help.
My package is (was?) called the Ultimate Triple and was XL everything and cost £48 after a £21 discount.
The Ultimate Triple is £55.95 - £56.95 when not on e-billing
However after speaking to a Customer Services Manager they have re gigged my package (don't know how) so I pay £10.50 more. That was achieved by increasing my discount to £25.50.
So now I will be paying £58.50 pm.
If they have changed your package to the £25.50 discount you will pay £66 for Triple XL with 50Mbit

Not sure what package I am on now but I was assured that my monthly payment from now on will be £58.50
