Hi. There is a site I go to that has been down for the past few days. I have asked around, and used downforeveryoneorjustme.com and it seems to be up.

When I use a proxy service such as hidemyass.com, I can visit the site fine.

I have tried my laptop, and tried power-cycling the modem (to try and get a new IP), but nothing works.

So my question is, does Virgin block websites? If so, why?

The only time Virgin will block a site - or part of a site (as far as I know) is if it appears on the IWF Blacklist

This one's used for checking out one's PC security and I haven't been able to get into it for some time.

Hmmm. I don't know what it could be then. Like I said nobody else has the problem - I asked on one of the other forums I frequent and got several replies saying it worked for them. It's obviously not on the IWF Blacklist :)

Any other ideas what it could be? I mean, it must be either the site which has blocked me, (which it shouldn't have) or VM, because when I used a proxy I could get on there.

Probably VM's DNS pointing to an outdated IP...If you go through a proxy website then you're using thier own DNS

I don't use VMs DNS servers (i use my own ones), also a PC i have access to on a uni network gets the same IP (and so doesn't work)
