Hi,

I've tried to search, etc., but am unfamiliar with a lot of the terms discussed so was hoping someone could shed a little light on my problems.

I've have VM broadbard for over a year now, and during the first 8 months the service was exemplary. Fast downloads, and immediate loading of most web-pages. In the past 2-3 months, my browsing speeds are deteriorated to almost unacceptable levels.

I just did a speed-test and it showed that I could download at 16mb, but when browsing my internet is just awful.

Any ideas?

Try changing your DNS to OpenDNS

208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220

you can either put them in your router or network card settings.

Open your browser go to tools>internet options>and delete all temporary internet files, cookies and browsing history and then try browsing.

Another one to try - if using internet explorer 7 click tools - internet options - advanced and then reset and reset when asked if you are sure. then restart internet explorer.

For in ternet explorer 6 try tools - internet options - advanced and then untick 'enable third party browser extensions' ( you will probably need to scroll down 2 or 3 lines but no more to find it) and again restart internet explorer.

Switches from Virgin's DNS to OpenDNS. Could improve the speed URLs (bbc.co.uk) are converted into computer language (212.58.224.138).
