Hi all - some background info:

Location: London SE1
Former NTL customer
Using an old blue NTL cable modem with a sticker saying NTL:250 on the side

I'm trying to connect an Apple Time Capsule to the modem to use as a wireless router (it is essentially an Airport Extreme base station with a networked hard drive built in):

Cable modem => ethernet => Time Capsule => wireless => Macbook pro

It has been working fine for months, but while fiddling around yesterday trying to connect a wireless camera I managed to break the connection. I have since tried everything I can find on various forums, and even done a hard reset, but can't get it to work again.

- The modem still connects to the internet (have tested using ethernet between the modem and the macbook)
- The macbook can connect to the TC wirelessly
- BUT the TC doesn't seem to see the modem

I have posted screenshots of my setup in Airport Utility here:
http://web.me.com/julian_love/Site/Time_Capsule.html

I've tried following the instructions here:
http://graemerocher.blogspot.com/2007/08/setting-up-apple-airport-exreme-router.html

I am using latest versions of all software and have turned everything off and back on again several times.

Any ideas? I'm usually quite good with tech, but not networking alas

The first link doesn't seem to work.

Is there an option on the airport to clone the macbooks mac address? Might be worth a go.

First, power cycle the modem (switch it on and off). Then do a factory reset on the Time Capsule, following the instructions at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1300 .

Unfortunately, you will need to set up your wireless network ID and security again.

Thanks Stuart - I've just managed to fix this.

I reset everything including the factory reset you linked to and ran through the Airport Utility setup wizard one more time - seems to be up and running again.

Thanks
