Hello all,

My broadband went out at about 1.30am last night, and didn't come back on until I rebooted the modem. When I rebooted it I got a new IP and my download speeds single thread seem to have increased by about 300KB/s. That can only be a good thing but did this happen to anyone else? It could indicate upgrades!

What downstream frequency are you on now?

Has your IP address changed?

Could have been some work on the access network or the headend, there are upgrades going on.

Yeah sounds like it. Certainly if a new IP you were either moved physically or DHCP servers were upgraded. Both are happening!

I had exactly the same, loss of internet until I rebooted the modem  All's well now though.

Any speed increases your end? Normally I'd get 7.5-8Mbps on a single FTP thread, now I'm getting the full 10Mbps! Never thought I'd ever see the day. :)

Not sure, I normally get the full whack or near to it, 20Mbps depending on the source ;)

Mine went out around the same time and noticed that it had around 2.30am. Rebooted modem and it came straight back on and also got a new ip address. In Sunderland.

Same, different IP after years of being the same. Never had a problem with speeds before or after.

Yep, mine was down from around 1:20AM, just checked and my webcam didn't upload until I got in from work today and restarted everything.

Got a new IP, not noticed any change in speed, could max out my 10Mbps with a single thread before and still can.
