View Full Version : Quick 20mb question
What number should appear under cable modem downstream frequency on the configuration page for 20mb?
Cheers

As I understand it there are a range of acceptable values, some of which depend on which part of the network you're on (although I'm not entirely sure, because it all seems rather confusing if you ask me).
Probably best to post your signal level here and let one of the techs tell you if it looks like it's in the right range.
is this (Maximum Downstream Data Rate : 20480000) 20mb?
yes you're on 20Meg, if it says 20480000 bits/sec in the config pages.
FYI upstream should be 768000 bits/sec
(it's not frequency though, it's bit rate)
Okay thanks. Just changed from 10mb earlier today and wanted to see if its been done yet.
Have you rebooted the modem. Switch the power off to the cable modem, wait 10secs then turn it back on. See if that does the trick.
