Hi ther

i reinstall windows on my pc every six months so everything runs nice and smooth and update with the latest drivers ect ect.

but just last week my internet connections keeps droping while i download files or view videos on ANY websites like www.gametrailers.com.

But if i switch my computer to wireless this never happens, but im not getting the most out of my 20mb bb so its kinda ****ing me off.

Also i can browse the internetnet fine all day but when i do anything of the downloading and watching videos it cutts me off and i have to restart my computer,

any help would be great as iam not very good at this sort of stuff.

If this as you say never happens when connecting wirelessly, then I would assume either dodgy enet card or drivers, as it would still happen wirelessly if it was a problem caused by the connection.

Thats what i thought, but i have the the drivers that came with the mother board and it happens with them and i download the latest ones and it still happens.

My Mother board is this A8R-MVP ASUS

It may be worth disableing the onboard nic & try fitting a seperate enet card. I take it that you have tried different enet cables.

Hi there
I have recently had this problem where my connection would drop off for around 3 to 10 seconds every half hour, pain in the rear when downloading or playing online, i changed from using virgins DNS servers, to an open resource www.opendns.com, totally free and which so far after a few days has done the trick, no connection falls and quicker browsing :)
