Watching DivX on PS2

Does anyone know if I can watch DivX movies on a ps2 without having to mod it. Basically I want to plug in a external drive in the PS2 USB and watch films. Is this possible?

Its the old PS2, i.e not the slim line model.

Hmmmm While I dont have a PS2 anymore I dont think that this is possible. I will have a look around and if I come across any information I will post it here.
