Is the Virgin Media Newsgroup free for all VM Broadband users? Do you need a Username/Password to set the account up on Grabit etc?

If so, what Newsgroup address do I use and how much can a user download per month?

Thanks

So you just have to be a VM broadband user and you can use it for how long you want?

You don't pay anything extra?

Thanks

That's right, yes. Bare in mind you only have 7 days retention so there's not a lot up for grabs. Also, at the moment there are many reports about speed issues. Expect it fixed moderatly soon.

7 days retention, thats nothing. So VM don't have a subscription based newsgroup server? ( so I can get more retention days)

....I'm looking for a cheap but good newsgroup server. Anyone know any?

Thanks Stabhappy

Astraweb are considered best value, but I personally use Giganews (which to be fair is very expensive) for the 240 day retention.

Astraweb have recently announced increased retention to 270 days!

Thankyou. I may very well wait a month or two for the retention to catch up; problem is that $11 deal is good but is a limited time.. Oh what to do..
