Hi All

I am having V+ installed on the 9th.

I'm having two v+ boxes installed, my question is....

i have one connection in the front room already from my old ntl tv days.

I am going to ask the VM man to put a connection in the back room and one upstairs.

so have 3 tv connections and 2 boxes

Would i be able to move the V+ from one room to another.

Thanks in advance

Make sure that they leave the exisitng cable intact and connected. Normally they'd disconnect redundant cables, to minimise potential problems.

In theory yes you could move the boxes about, since they all get the same signal feed. In practice the cables may have different resistivity due to different lengths. That might affect the quality of signal strength which might in turn make a slight difference to the boxes in different locations.

why would you get 3 points installed if you're only having 2 boxes? :/

Three possible reasons:

1. To provide flexibility in locating existing televisions;
2. To add a third box in the future without further disruption;
3. Not allowed to discuss on this forum .......

It would depend on the levels at each point if having all points live the levels are poor then the tech should turn one off.Also having live ports open noise can get onto the network and cause problems for you and others .:)

kind of number 1.To provide flexibility in locating existing televisions;

If i have friends round to say watch a football game etc... i can move the box to the back room (which is bigger) closer to the fridge and have the door open for the smokers etc...

you shouldn't really let people smoke in your fridge, you know ;)
