They said it couldn't be done but apparently they have.

For various reasons I haven't got around to swapping my Samsung STB for a modem for the 4mb -> 10mb upgrade. Yesterday, my Internet dropped a couple of times which a reboot fixed. Now all of a sudden, i'm getting a smooth 10mb connection from newsgroups, speedtest.net, etc. They said it couldn't be done and the max was 6.5mb. When I had the old 3mb which was upgraded to 10mb, I downgraded to the 4mb as it was unusable.

Have they worked a way around it, or is there something else going on?

It can manage it fine, but it tends to cause small fires (only joking) :D

I think it works but just isn't terribly reliable, have you tried uploading while downloading, does it fall over?

Just tried it...

This is while I got whilst uploading at full whack (65k/s fairly smooth. That's gone up as well, it used to be 40-oddk/s max)

Test 1: 1024K took 923 ms = 1109.4 KB/sec, approx 9141 Kbps, 8.93 Mbps
Test 2: 1024K took 951 ms = 1076.8 KB/sec, approx 8873 Kbps, 8.67 Mbps
Test 3: 1024K took 876 ms = 1169 KB/sec, approx 9633 Kbps, 9.41 Mbps
Test 4: 2048K took 1742 ms = 1175.7 KB/sec, approx 9688 Kbps, 9.46 Mbps

Overall Average Speed = approx 9334 Kbps, 9.12 Mbps

Upload dropped down to about 45k/s whilst I ran that.

All download tests give me a consistent 1.2mb/s 9.7-10mbps. It must be a miracle I guess. And at Christmas too, how novel! :p:
