While I was out for a walk I noticed there is a Virgin Media street green box with the doors open situated on the junction of Danywern Drive and Wedderburn Close, in Winnersh (Thames Valley) RG41 5NY.

The box is broken into regually by vandals

I thought if they were vandalised regually, they came out and buried them :/

I walked past a street in Eastleigh a couple of months ago and noticed that on every single house, the VM box at their house had been smashed open, some had bits of wire hanging out of them.

I quite regularly see vandalised boxes around here.

Some people just have no respect for others property.

That's one way to get a quick boost in speed in an oversubscribed area ;)

I don't think VM actually care about open boxes. I've repeatedly reported an open box near me, and a year later, its STILL open.

Open boxes seem to be commonplace now. My area was originally cabled in 1993 and most of the boxes are reaching capacity either with used or unused connections. The VM techs have a horrendous job trying to shut the doors and the majority now seem to be only locked in at the top as the bottom bolts won't go in.

The newsgroup guys seem pretty good at passing this on to the correct department.
