View Full Version : Losing Connection Several Times a Day

Hi,

My connection keeps dropping. It is usually several times a day but can be as often as every few minutes on a bad day. The only remedy seems to be unplugging the Cable Modem waiting 10-20 seconds and plugging it back in again (which can't be good).
I am based in Croydon (former Telewest) using a Webstar DPX100. I am on the new 10mb (old 4mb) service.
My stats are:
Name
WebSTAR DPX100

Hardware Version
2.1

Software Version
1.0.5 r1.1.3 (cm.update.bin)

Receive Power Level
6.80 dBmV

Transmit Power Level
44.00 dBmV

Cable Modem Status
operational

Please let me know if you have any solutions.

Many Thanks

What is the Downstream frequency if it is not 331000000 or 339000000 it will cause disconnections try this link as a quick fix.
http://192.168.100.1/gscan.cgi?freq=0 your modem frequency will reset to 0, reboot and cycle to the correct frequency.

That is the cause of your issue, plus if you are on 10Mb you need to call in for a replacement modem as that is not truly capable of 10Mb.
