I can't find an answer for this anywhere, but how much does it cost to call an 0300 number per minute, from a virgin fixed line telephone?

The website has 2 pdfs on call bands and charges.
From what I could work out calling 0300 is chargeband N3.
Can't find it in the calling costs pdf though, nearest I can find is PN3 which is 7p connection charge and 7p per minute.

0300 i think is local or national calling rate. Designed to replace 0800 for premium phone lines (i.e lots of connections). If only more companies would use them...

0800 is free.
0845 costs money so it goes 0300 will cost too.

Maybe it was just me, but when BBC Radio 2 switched their main hotline from an 08700 number to 03700, their charges dropped from what they were to local calling rates.

Aye 0870 is national rate, 0845 is local rate.

This link is a bit old but I assume it is still correct.

Ofcom have now announced criteria and timescale for the 03- number range, where all calls are charged at same rates as calls to 01- or 02- numbers. These numbers should be available from October 2006 so new helplines or helplines setting up an additional number, should be aware of this new option.

* 0300 numbers for the public sector (including organisations with a .gov.uk or .nhs.uk website) and not-for profit organisations such as registered charities
* 0303 numbers for anyone
* 034x numbers available to people who currently have 084x number (so any organisation with 0845 456 7890 would have the option of changing to 0345 456 7890)
* 037x numbers available to people who currently have 087x numbers

03 numbers including the new 0300 and 0345 number costs the same as calling 01 and 02 numbers. They are also part of your calling plan, so if you have chosen Talk Unlimited it will be free to call at all times, if your on Talk weekends, then it will be 4p per minute plus 7p to connect and free at weekends.

If you are on Talk Anywhere, it will be deducted out of your minutes with no call connection charge.

More information can be found on Ofcom's website and recently updated Virgin Media,BT and Cable and Wireless's conditions for telephone service.
