I know a few of you on here have heard me tell of my kinda difficult youth. I made a whole lot of mistakes and I was not a very nice person.

No matter what I did or how evil I was there was always someone there for me. Someone who would take me in do my washing just be there.

Sadly this morning my Nan passed away she will be sorely missed

RIP Nan I love you

That's tough Dave. I lived with my Nan for a while years ago when my life went pear-shaped for a time. She was always there for me and it was a hell of a knock when she passed away.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Treasure the memories she's left for you.

Sincere condolences on your loss David.

It's not many people who'd have the courage to so candidly front up to a less than glowing past and you deserve as much credit for doing that and becoming a better person as you do for all the help you provide to folks around here (even if some technophobes like me can't understand what the hell you're going on about most of the time ;) ).

I'm sure your nan was very proud of you. Well done! :tu:

She had a fall a week ago Sunday night/monday morning and unfortunately broke her hip. They had to operate but my Nan never really regained her strength. She did not suffer and the hospital staff were good to her

Thanks everyone for your kind words. As you know I live alone and I have been here on my own all morning. When I came home I just wanted to say something but there was no one here so I said what I felt here instead. Thanks for kinda listening all :)

It's good to hear she went without too much suffering.

Co-incidentally, my wife was brought up by her grandmother after losing both her parents as a very young child in E. Europe. She sadly died last year after having a fall in the shower. Although there were no major injuries at the time, we think it just took too much out of her and she never really recovered and passed away in her sleep about 10 days later. The worst thing is that my wife never got to say goodbye to her. :(

your obvious love for your nan had me in tears when i read your original post zing.
time heals, and you WILL look back and cherish all you had together, and all she did for you..for now, grieve, give her a good send off, then move on,because you will always have her in your thoughts, and in time you will SMILE,not cry when you think about her.
good luck pal.

Know how you're feeling Zing.

My Nan was the one person who always stuck up for me, the one person who always believed in me, and the one person that I knew I could always count upon.

She was a strong woman right up to the end - fiercly proud and protective of all of her children and grand children, and loved by everyone that she knew.

We lost her last year, and I've missed her every day since then - I never even got to say goodbye :(

RIP both of our Nans.
