Hello

My net seems to not want to connect to certain sites 95% of the time and I have no idea why.

Sites like allakhazam.com, answers.yahoo.com, tomshardware.co.uk just will not work when i want them to. Randomly sometimes it will but most times it wont. No idea why.

Some gaming servers (havent got a clue what the IP is since its on WOW and I dont play it, but was told by my brother) will also not connect. Only if you keep trying to connect about 30-40 times will it eventually let you in and then in a few mins it just disconnects.

Every other site works brilliantly.

I called up virgin media and the guy went through all the usual checks and steps but still no result.

Anybody have any idea?

What I have done: reset everything, reinstalled antivirus, reset IE settings, followed the virgin media broadband help section, pinging the servers shows that it connects on yahoo and toms but not on allakhazam but when u type the address into IE you get nothing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried doing a traceroute to the sites in question to see where the problem lies?

from what I can tell the problem seems to be somewhere in Los Angeles..lol

buuuuuuut, when i use my laptop on a different connection to the one im on now..it works fine :-/

So can it be that a different service provider would use a different route and as a result get the connection, but I cant?

Have you tried the sites???

here is the tracert to yahoo answers

There is a huge leap in ping towards the end but i still cant get the site to show up on IE or firefox.

If you click on Connection (a link at the top of this page) what does it give (try not to post any info from it that might identify you)
