Hi, I have the bog standard Virgin cable modem and wanted to know how I can open ports / setup port forwarding for emule?

Before switching to Virgin I had normal DSL and a router so I'm familier with doing this but how do you do this with the Virgin cable modem? As far as I'm aware I have no login to access the modem!!

Many thanks in advance

All the ports are already open on a cable modem.... The only thing stopping them will be either your router if you have one or your firewall again if you have one..

Also the login should be on http://192.168.100.1 (it should tell you what the default password/username is but I think it's root/root

low id could mmean that you have very little to upload on emule, remember its a file sharing program and relys on you uploading at the same time as downloading. If u dont have much to share then your id willl be low.

Also, check the notifications in thhe emule servers tab, it will tell you if a particular port is unreachable

Low ID is nothing to do with how much you're sharing. Turn Windows firewall back on then add the e-mule ports ( http://www.emule-project.net/home/files/help/onlinehelp/topic122_1174438622_1.jpg ) as exceptions.
