Lucky you you're quite fast at 8 meg.

Dunno what you're saying to them as I don't have a problem. I ring them up they yes it's our server I'll raise a ticket and then can you ring customer services for a refund.

Annoying I have to do it monthly and I'll have to do it again soon.

That looks like over subscribtion to me, since those modem levels are fine.#

Are you behind a router at all or direct connecition?

You are on a Black Virgin branded Ambit 256 and those power levels are well within the normal operational parameters for your connection.

The issue may be elsewhere but lets look at your PC first, are you using XP, Vista or are you on a MAC, are you using a router and does it make any difference with a direct connection if you are.

This site has various tweaks you could try on your computer.http://www.speedguide.net/read_articles.php?id=157

Try that and just move the slider to the far right.

It probably won't make much difference, but to eliminate the router as a possible cause, do the following.

Connect the PC straight to the Cable Modem. Shutdown the PC.
Now, unplug the modem from the mains, and after 30 seconds, plug it back in again.
When the lights on the modem has settled down, power up the PC again.

Rerun that speedtest, and also run the test from the top of this page and post the results.

As I say, it may not make any difference, but some older routers cannot handle the 20 meg service, so if you have an older router, it *could* be the router slowing things down.

Hi

I'm running through a Belkin N1.

I have tried that and there is no affect to the speed

This wont fix you issue but I would downgrade to the 10Mb to save about £12 a month

Hi,
What speed is your network card?
Is it a 10 meg card or 10/100
