Depends very much where you are. I get c. 14-16 meg (using wireless - may well be more if I connected direct), but some areas are congested.
As Sir John Said, It depends a lot on where you are ATM. Post your location and ask to see if anyone else in your area is having any problems hitting 20Meg peak times. Plus it can't be to long for the 10Meg upgrade. Have you posted on the VM support newsgroups, they may be able to tell you when the upgrade date is.
Note: If you do upgrade to 20Meg make sure you have a compatible modem.
current location is in sheffield S11 area

What I say you should do is upgrade for a month and if you don't like it downgrade and you should have the 10Mb then if u downgrade to the large

Can't spot anything on newsgroups about the other side of the city except s5 having problems a few days ago. I expect the upgrade to be sometime this month, I've seen work being done in sheffield the last few days. It might just be maintenance work but I don't see that much activity normally. That said I remember one of the previous telewest upgrades and that was running 3 months behind the revised schedule for South Yorkshire.

you gonna do that?
what about additional costs?
