I wonder if any other users of NTL/Telewest business services might be able to help me? I have the 10 Mb/s fixed IP address service installed last week. So far I haven't received anythign in the post in connection with the service.

So far it's been working perfectly. I want to now start to configure mail routing and find that from the NTL/Telewst website that the smart host is smtp.ntlbusiness.com, however that refuses a connection from my IP address.

Also I can't access news.ntlbusiness.com either.

I am in an ex-Telewest area.

Any help appreciated.

Agreed however it doesn't operate like that though. For instance in ex-NTl areas they charge a one of £10 fee for fixed IP addresses, but in ex-Telewest it's £10 per month.

Also it seems from a Telewest region fixed IP address you can't connect to the ntlbusiness smtp servers etc....

Fortunately customer services on the business side are more than helpful when it comes to the business product and should be able to give you the information you need promptly. I would give you my own but being an xNTL area it may differ.
