View Full Version : NETGEAR ROUTER Virgin 20mb

MY network setup is as follow's:
Netgear router WGR614 wired into the virign modem via ethernet
Netgear router ethernet into a network switch, also Netgear 16 port Auto-uplink
Before I download a torrent and open it the internet runs full-span at 20mb but as soon as I run that torrent the whole internet stops I cant even access the router's gateway (192.168.1.1)

Also Is there any firmware upgrade i can do here is my firmware for the netgear.
Firmware Version V2.5.22_2.5.22

try it without router to be sure? as test

many thanks for this. I was about to send the router back. It kept dropping connections and If I tried to ping the router I would get connection time-outs.

Hey I have been having the exact same problem stated at the start of this thread since I got virgin media, and finally decided I have had enough. I tried changing the settings as you said (MTU size: 1400, and Nat filtering open) however it does not seemed to have fixed the problem. I am on windows vista... Any advice.
