Anyone getting these? Don't know if it's a local issue or a national issue.
I have to refresh a couple of times to get the page to show properly.

Server not found
Firefox can't find the server at cableforum.co.uk.
* Check the address for typing errors such as ww.example.com instead of www.example.com
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

TS5 (Boro) Area. I thought it was a google issue at first since it first happened when searching but now it seems to happen to pretty much every site i've been on.

Yep, that too, like it only retrieves part of the webpage...

Started doing this yesterday for me. I could be happliy browsing any web site. Navigate away to another then get Server not found on a site I had been viewing only 5 minutes before. Tried with IE and Safari, both having same problems, also tried with desktop & laptop with same results.
Also noticed that lots of embedded pictures on forums etc are not displaying.

Used my ZEN dial up and that works fine, if rather slowly.

Jim.

Guys, could this be related to my post "DNS Cache". Try & repair your connection & see.

well that is great a nationwide refresh fest..

i must admit after repairing connection,i have had no connection problems..as i know when your connected to a website you can refresh it without problems, well for me it was.

hopefully d-link will tell me why i can't see wan on my d-link dgl4300 to change the dns on the latest firmware as well.

if you go to this link below and see the pictures you will see wan ,

https://www.opendns.com/start?device=dlink-dgl-4300

on mine

bleh i would love to use opendns,if my router supported wan,but really it seems a simple repair worked for me so far,but if the problem comes again i must be prepared to use opendns on router or not.

I've been having probs like this for weeks now.

http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/19/33635705-intermittent-internet-access.html

It seems to come and go but is pretty bad at the moment. It certainly seems to be worse with subdomains other than www. Ebay is virtually unusable today. It certainly seems to help if I use the Renfrew proxy.

open DNS is the way forward. VM's DNS servers are very tempramental so just use open DNS its much more reliable.

Get this problem all the time. On a PC not using anything to do with Virgin. So its must be google or even a firefox fault. I just retry its never failed YET!!!!

hmm.. I'm wondering, that flaw thats been found as regards the way web addresses are handled and the subsequent patch that was released to fix it.... I'm wondering if thats got anything to do with it all as most of us, regardless, havent had problems like this until VERY recently.

Either the patching hasn't been done and a half-hearted attempt has failed or the patch needs a patch??

Just a guess, don't shoot me down in flames :D
(and nobody seems to have mentioned it yet either...!)
