As of 21/07/08 any customer taking JUST telephone with VM will no longer receive free weekend calls.

Instead customers will be placed onto a offpeak / 5p talkplan.

All calls on the weekend during the day will be standard rates (7p connection and 4p per min)

Calls after 6pm will be charged at 5p for the entire call, however the customer will need to hang up and redial before the 60mins otherwise will be charged at 3.25p per minute.

Friday midnight to Sunday Midnight.

All existing telephone customers have nothing to worry about as they will keep their free weekend calls.

Standalone telephone customers with this talk plan cannot upgrade to talk weekends, however can upgrade to evening and weekends for £3.45 and talk unlimited for £7.95.

If the customer takes more than one service with VM then they will automatically get free weekend calls...for example...if you take telephone and TV SIZE:M (free tv) you will still get free weekend calls.

This has been changed due to concerns raised by the ASA (advertising standards agency) over the way VM's bundles were advertised.

Don't worry, if you already have telephone you won't be affected...

also if you have any other services and are thinking or taking telephone you wont be affected :)

To clarify, this only affects NEW customers taking JUST a phone from Monday. Existing customers (even those moving house) need not worry

To clarify on the phone plan. From 6pm every evening through to 6am the following morning during the week, and from 6pm Friday through to 6am Monday morning, any call made on the plan costs 5p for 60 mins. After that it charges as quoted at 3.25ppm. As with the other plans you can redial the same number and start again.

During the week, 6am to 6pm the call charges are as per usual 4ppm with a 7p connection charge.

This plan existed several years ago on both ex-ntl and ex-tw, so some people may still be on it (there was a thread on here last week about it)
