I think I will have to touch my wood and hope that staying for next 12 months but I don't think so cos I was aware of STM was spreading area by area roll out now and it appear it will come to Telford soon.

^^^^ zain it is more than worth it, 10mb felt slow to be honest, but you'll feel the full power for 20mb when your downloading huge files.

What the point of putting STM in force ? Why can't VM put a usage cap instead of stupid speed cap!

I would say change STM to usage cap instead like this:

2Mb - user can download no more than 2GB per 24 hours period and no more than 56GB per month

4Mb/10Mb - user can download no more than 6GB per 24 hours period and no more than 168 GB per month

20Mb - user can download no more than 15GB per 24 hours period and no more than 420GB per month

And scrap that silly speed cap !!!

Because 2Gb is nothing, nor is 6Gb or 15Gb.

Hell 420Gb in a month is nothing. I was doing that in a fortnight at one point. (And i hardly download anything these days!)

IMO STM is much better than an overall cap as STM still allows you to download a massive amout a month. I would hate to get to a point where i suddenly cannot use my connection or would have to pay for additional usage. STM sucks we all know that but it is the lesser of two evils. I dont mind STM too much as i hardly trigger it and when i am not STM'ed i always get a rock solid 20meg connection so im happy with VM as long as they dont introduce Phorm or thier other DPI Allot Traffic Throttling !

the speeds and service are very good with the 20mbit but the upload and capping is the only two problems it should be at least 2mbit upload for 20mbit
other then that its perfect, and if ur not a heavy dwnloader or dont care about the upload and dont upload much either then the 88kbyte uppload should be fine, for me i watch a lot of tv online and youtube and upload lots of pics and like to backup my drive on megaupload which is annoying on such a low upload

Quality is another issue though. The last 24 hours have been a properly bad time, with virtually no service whatsoever yesterday at around 8am to 9am. Through the night it more or less stayed the same until around 3am onwards when it picked up a little bit. However it remains patchy, with glitches and frequent laggy moments.

According to VM site and telephone there is an outage in TF1 which is exactly where I am. The outage appears to me to not be an actual outage but an issue with throughput in what must be the local UBR.

Also, yesterday I was given the following ticket number relating to TF1 by tech support as F000738891

The website gives the ticket number as 739624 !!
