View Full Version : Virgin Broadband Problem

Slightly strange problem for me is that my interent connection works after turning on my computer yet after a period of browsing (2 hours or so) the connection stops. However, it would appear to not be a modem problem as to fix this i need to restart the computer, and not the modem.the modem is always on and never turned off.

I have done the obvious checks ie restart my modem but i would assume it is my computer that is the problem as i get a connection on start up then after a period of time i have to restart the computer to get the interent working again.

Also i don't get an error, when the interent fails it just displays a blank page (no error message) with done in the status bar.

Any help welcomed, thanks in advance.

Anti-virus installed?
Run anti-spyware scans?
Got any unknown devices in device manager?

no anti virus software installed, but i regularly run anti spy ware scans and have done so in this case.
and no unknown devices in device manager.

Check the power settings for your network card -- make sure it's not set to something like 'power saving mode'?
