Anyone know how you can tell if you are being throttled, eg for the past 10 days I've been having to reset via the plug the modem before I can get any speed as pages like bbc are taking ages to load. I am the 4meg broadband via a modem not the stb.

Thanks

Do a speed test from http://myspeed.visualware.com/servers/lhr.html & check your upload.

On 4Mbps it should be 384kbps (there or thereabouts), if it's 128 kbps you're being throttled.

Like that last reply, Its a ntlhome 200 & although the speedtest is showing the correct rate the www pages are very slow to appear on IE7 for the past 10 days or so.

Have you got IE set to automatically check for 'phishing' or other dodgy web sites?

I think some people may be experiencing the issues you describe with that setting enabled at the moment, only on some machines though and I'm not sure what's causing it yet :erm:

So if your browsing is slow and as Raistlin has pointed out, this 'maybe' a browser issues. Have you tried a simple ping test.
ping www.bbc.co.uk

Post back the results, it might be worthwhile posting your modem stats too.
