How can I connect two modems to get faster speeds? I have an AOL and a VM modem.

Um, one is ADSL and one is cable?
Doubt you can do it.
It may be possible to bond two DSL connections together like they used to be able to do with ISDN.
AFAIK You would need to have both connection from the same provider to stop duplicated data requests

You could build yourself a loadbalanced router with multiple WAN Interfaces.
