View Full Version : 20mb really slow speeds in Paisley Area?

Anyone else having shocking speeds in the Paisley area tonight? Last few weeks have been bad but tonight is a disgrace. Im getting speeds not above 25.0kb/s. Tried modem and router reset with no joy :mad:

Supposed to be bl***y 20meg as well!!

i thought it was STM that's causing it, mind...I seem to be constantly capped.

Its shocking thats what it is. I thought also i was always capped but its even worse than the supposed capped speeds.

Got speed of 180- 190 kb/s today. Telephone call to VM here we come :erm:

Anyone know the best number to call on?

1st 512K took 4140 ms = 123.7 KB/sec, approx 1019 Kbps, 1 Mbps
2nd 512K took 1938 ms = 264.2 KB/sec, approx 2177 Kbps, 2.13 Mbps
3rd 512K took 2859 ms = 179.1 KB/sec, approx 1476 Kbps, 1.44 Mbps
4th 512K took 2453 ms = 208.7 KB/sec, approx 1720 Kbps, 1.68 Mbps

Overall Average Speed = approx 1598 Kbps, 1.56 Mbps

Please could you post your signal levels upstream & downstream, the log entries aren't usually as significant.

it gives some idea what the nominal levels should be.

Based on that your upstream power is possibly borderline - unfortunately to sort that out requires an engineer visit.

I get exactly the same upstream power levels as you at 53.5 dbmv and yet I do not suffer such a low speed as yours, if you have better speed in the day time, then over subscription in your UBR could be the reason for slowness in the evening. If your upload is around 700 kbps, then you are not under STM.

Speed a good bit better today but still nowhere near the service im paying for.
