Newsgroups slow help maybe a way round

I dont know if anybody has tried this. I have always used 20 bots.

But over the last few months i have been getting slow speeds i messed about

adding more bots and i found that i can use 99 (the max i can use) and my

speed has increased from 800/999 to the magic 2.35mb. try it.........it might

work for you.

if anyone knows why this might be could you tell me the tech bit as i dont

know why it helps.

you are hammering the server using 99 connections, wouldnt suprise me if VM limit the number of connections soon

maybe if virginmedia supplied better quality connections the server might not get hammered i find when my connection is good i can use single thread http and get 480 kB's but when its not so good i can still get 480 but with multiple connections
