Hi,

I've had VM installed for about 6months now and I've started to get my first problem.

For the past two mornings my modem isn’t syncing and when it does it only lasts for a few seconds.

I don’t know how long this problem is happening as I'm at work during the day and when I get back home it’s working.

Any body else experiencing these problems

If this is during the modem switching on then it is normal as it is just trying to aquire a Downstream lock and is not a fault.

If you need help then post the modem settings....

Just go to http://192.168.100.1 and tell us the usual like upstream and downstream power levels, SNR and anything else relevant...

If this is during the modem switching on then it is normal as it is just trying to aquire a Downstream lock and is not a fault.

No, I leave my router and modem on 24/7

They look all good, you may want to keep an eye on the downstream power though.

I would just ring CS and ask for a new modem. Thats the first thing id do! :)

They would refuse as the is nothing wrong with the modem and you would be charged for the call!

Your modem is working the same as any other modem, the configuration files you have posted show that your modem is working correctly.

Everytime a modem is rebooted it automatically receives every update available for that modem, even ones that are not needed or required, some modems receive data with strange dates, this is all quite normal during the DORA process.

Any way last night at 22:50PM(sat night) I lost internet access till 16:00PM(sunday afternoon) I phoned VM in the morning and theres someone coming out tomorrow

My logs and my modem is working perfectly. Actually very similar to your post.

Third log down is my 20 Mb config file.

Guy came today and replace the cable to the modem and gave me a new modem. Apparently the damaged cable had messed the modem up :S

Took 4hrs before I was able to get online (Kept loading the modem registration page)
