Issues In Edinburgh EH9

Hey all

just thought id post and see if any other Cable (EX Telewest) Customers in Edinburgh are having any issues with high latency in games and slow download speeds..

Im currently pinging the bbc website @ 422MS
Download Speed from gamefiles.virginmedia.com = 1.64mbps
(fair enuff around 14mb con)

however i have to be honest my connection went from stable around xmas time to totally pants.

I Used to work for Virgin Media Broadband Technical Support and i am well aware this will take some time to be fixed.

I called the tech support tonight to double check it was logged and it apparently is.. (i got through to india) however she could not tell me when the ticket was opened or when infact it will be closed.

Fantastic.. and here i was concidering going to a Business Connection with NTLTELEWEST when theres no point if im going to be going through this exact same crappy connection.

As usual with all faults.. with any company its a dead end..
theres NAFF all on the status page with regards to it.

Is anyone else having this issue in the Edinburgh Area (Near Town Center)?

Edinburgh here (Southside) and I'm getting 25ms ping on BB L.

Im having problems with BBC and other game servers down south.

I'm in EH10 and it seems ok here. That being said, I had about a fortnight last month where I was plagued by lousy pings in TF2. It seemed to sort itself out eventually.

i just realised that myself..
pinging bbc @ 300+
however my game server im getting a 400 ping on..
but i connected to a different server (possibly with different routing)
and had a 15 ping .. WTF???

the GF is pinging @ 730 on WOW ...

so its clearly a routing issue to servers and other things..

websites appear to be lagging and taking a while too...
and i think its due to the high latency... for got sake fix it
