I have a colleague who says that he cannot update from a dial-up BT service because he understands that his company, with whom he has to be in regular Internet contact, only allows dial-up access "for security reasons".

He has VM cable in his area - if he were to sign up for a virgin phone contract could he no longer access his company's dial-up service?

It all sounds odd to me but then what do I know?:dunce:

Any comments would be appreciated.....

signing up for a rival phone company doesnt limit who you can call. Any phone number that was available on BT will still be available for him on Virgin, so his dialup will not cease to work.
