Who's your barber and what's your relationship like? Or do you just go to any barber? I know some of you just use Mr Sheen :D

I see George. Bit overweight and balding. Big footy fan. It's a very male environment, frequented by chavs and working class types. I tend to feel threatened. There's:

George himself - very good
Cheeky Chappy - also very good
New Age Lesbian - probably straight but has the appearance of not being. Also very good
Olga - last job was in a Russian women's gulag. Bit brutal. Says little - just cuts. Large breasts so the teenage lads quite like her

The barber I use is well known locally (Salford). The last time I was in there some local villian paid him with Viagra. You could say that the rolls had reversed because the barber got something for his weak-end instead. :)

I can't say I have a relationship with mine - there's one round the corner that I use, don't have a preference as to who cuts it there.

All I want is a hair cut - I don't want small talk, talk about 'the match', or to hear what they did on their holiday. I want my hair cut, and10 minutes peace and quiet :)

Why yes, I _am_ a miserable bugger :)

I cut my own hair. It's easy, and always comes out 0.9cm in length.

AS long as that ;)

I cut my own hair as well, a number one all over the head and an open blade on the face ( I hate shaving :D )

Number One always used to make me look incredibly bad. But that would have been easier to manage.

I use Vidal of Tirana, he don't really like being called that but then I don't like being confronted with his bill!! Still he does a good job and is worth it I guess

Who do you use Russ? :)

Same here but they do tend to try to engage me in conversation - unless it's Olga.

Bet you look a right pair of ruffians :D

Not so keen on shaving neither - time consuming.

Now, now :D

I gave up on barbers when the search fee was more than the haircut. :D I bought one of the Wahl sets, but just use the cutter without any of the heads, there's not enough left on top even for a number 1.

Barber in Kendal, £14 for a dry cut or £25 for a wash and cut. Does a really nice cut but recently got the owner cutting my hair and won't be going back to her again as she just moaned through the whole event. I can get that at home for free.

I used to pay a fiver for a number one all over every 3 weeks or so. Then I invested in set of clippers that i can use in the shower and been doing that for the last 4 years or so.

I have been cutting my husbands hair since we were first married and broke. Over the years I must have saved him a fortune.

To start with he had a mullet and a very full head of hair. Over the years his forehead has increased in height ( note the words receding hairline are not used in my husband's family. https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/local/2008/04/20.gif) and he is now happy with a no. 3 cut.

I let my hair grow pretty long before I get it cut. It used to cost a fiver for (what I call), "a short back & severely dealt with". I just let it grow now and don't bother going. If i'm desperate, I get my daughter to give me (what I call), "a short back & forgot to stop".

It depends as my mate is a stylist so if she is in town she'll do it for me for nothing. If she is not it's off to the local barber for a £5

It's funny you start a topic on this as I have just been to my hairdressers tonight.
I've been going to have my hair cut by Stephen since I was about 15 and found out today he is retiring which is a great loss as he was a local hairdressers and very pleasent indeed.

We'd talk a lot about travel, holidays, the local community, etc.

I pay £8.00

Got mine cut yesterday... she did a good job and was a friendly lass who kept on leaning forward and pressing her breasts against the back of my head. :)

Think I'll go back there and ask for her again next time.

Mr Remmington comes out every 2 weeks or so, he never uses attachments on me and conversation is minimal to say the least. But sometime I do have a chunter about him if he isnt cutting to well and Mr Bic pays a visit during the warmer weather.

I get my "Grade 3 round the back and messy scissory cut on the top" done at my Barber of choice "Tom, Dick & Harry" (although they're all women!) by whoever's available round about once every 6 weeks - by which time it's a mop! Infact, just had it cut day before yesterday :)

Imagine my shock and alarm as he proceeded to smear dog poo all over my head.

I get a glass of wine when I arrive, Craig washes my hair, cuts it, washes it again, we slag the world off and I get another glass of wine, then he styles it.

To be honest I wring every last bit of value out of my pennies normally but I love just taking an hour out once every 4 weeks to do nothing other than relax and have a natter.

Worth every penny. :D

My barber usually takes 15-20 minutes and charges £9. £24 for an hour of his time and a glass of wine doesn't sound bad at all.
