....I have the TV up and running however I can't access the internet via CM. I have now used up all my credit on mobile to call tech support. I have been told my account is activated. I'm currently borrowing upstair'ss wireless connection if you were wondering!

I can see that the CM has power and the ethernet connection is working. There is are solid SYNC and READY lights too.

I have noticed that my IP address is never assigned by DHCP and as a result I get a manually configured 192. IP address.

I'm still waiting for a call back from tech support that was over an hour ago now and was told it would be straight away.

It looks like I'm not being leased an IP address.

My girlfriend is not happy about the situation and my patience is running thin.

PLEASE HELP?

Have you power-cycled the modem yet?

Still no call back as promised from the tech support team.

Still no BB connection through my CM.

Thanks to neighbours upstairs I have access to the Internet.

So 24 hours since the start of my quickstart installation of TV, Broadband and telephone I have TV. No broadband and no telephone.

I should be grateful that the engineer is coming out next Tuesday 22nd April to investigate issue with telephone line however I can't call tech support as I have used all credit on mobile and do not have a fixed telephone line.

It's a shame I can't go to my neighbours and ask to use their telephone but that wouldn't be practical as that's the next floor above and if I get to speak to any one I'll be to far away from my equipment to run through any diagnostics with the tech support team.

Maybe I'll be in luck next week when my fixed line is working or even still when tech support goes free on 1st June.

This hasn't been a very good introduction into digital services from Virgin Media.

What shall I do?

I must remind myself that some nice person within Virgin Media has promised that I will not get charged until the telephone line is fixed next week but I still might not have broadband by then. I have a 30-day money back guarantee; do I take advantage and give it all back?

That would leave me with out digital TV and there is a ***** freeview signal in my area, which requires a professional aerial installation. BT wants £124 to connect a dead telephone line to the address! Should I wait a see if the engineer can resolve the telephone issue and then call tech support? Is there anyone out there today on line here on the cable forum that can push the right buttons and give me broadband?

There is a god. I called the frr phone quickstart number and requested to be put through to tech support and the called me back as I had no credit and after a quick diagnoses I was online in no time at all. Thanks tech guys. The PC I am using didn't have the TCP/IP IP address set to automatic.

Use my experience for reference if you please.
