HI, long time since I have been here.

The mum in law is still a customer & it may cost too much to get her a BT line in so she canhave the free sky bb.

So am considering the £4.50pm offer, what I'd like to know is what sort of modem is it she would get?
Does it have an ethernet port on it?
Also how long is the modem to phone point cable?

Does she need anything special at the point?

I'm planning on doing an install myself as her PC will be upstairs & the phone point is downstairs.

Any advice gratefully received.
Cheers,
Zoombini.

Hey Zoombini!

It'd PROBABLY be an Ambit 256 which has ONLY an Ethernet Port, the Modem doesn't plug into the Phonepoint.

Cheers for that, where does it connect?

Assuming your mother in law is in a Virgin Media Cable serviced area, then there will need to be a cable from the street run to the proposed modem location. A phone point is only required for ADSL (over BT type) broadband.
