I'm moving soon to a non-cabled area and am going to get sky HD. My question is, does the HD box attempt to upscale SD images or does it display them at native res?

It'll do either, depending on connection & on how you have it set.

I have my Sky HD box connected using HDMI, & set to 1080i. The HD channels are output at their native res. of 1080i, while the SD channels are upscaled to 1080i.

If you don't want it to, then you can set it to leave the SD channels alone.

I think it does a very good job. SD channels upscaled via my Sky HD box over HDMI, look much better than SD channels output in SD via SCART. IMO.

The engineer will set it all up for you. HD & Non HD channel's thru scart are bog standard.
