Hi All..

New to Virgin as of last week.
I have the 20mb cable and the speeds have been really poor.

Sun, 30 Mar 2008 17:35:44 GMT

Test 1: 1024K took 7406 ms = 138.3 KB/sec, approx 1140 Kbps, 1.11 Mbps
Test 2: 1024K took 9656 ms = 106 KB/sec, approx 873 Kbps, 0.85 Mbps
Test 3: 1024K took 10984 ms = 93.2 KB/sec, approx 768 Kbps, 0.75 Mbps
Test 4: 2048K took 18610 ms = 110 KB/sec, approx 906 Kbps, 0.88 Mbps

Overall Average Speed = approx 922 Kbps, 0.9 Mbps

We had an engineer out on Saturday who did some tests and declaired it was due to over subscription. He called someone from a dept called BIA who confirmed this and suggested there are plans to upgrade something or other.

is there anyway i can find out if such work is planned to upgrade the local area (SW16) ?
I appriciate issues can happen, id just like to know how long befor the capacity will be sorted ?

Cheers
Ranny.

Put a message ont he news groups and to be fair the techs have been pretty swift.

The tech reports my local network was at 99% for over 25% of yesterday.
Damm there must be a lot of donkey prawn doing the rounds in Streatham.

Atleast i know now exactly what the issue is..
When VM say its on the "upgrade" list but with no date set does that mean weeks/months/creation of a new bubble universe ?

The dial up speeds are barable if i know it is being adressed tootsweet.
