In edgbaston:

its at around 3 megs for me on my WIRELESS laptop so thats pretty good, seeing as there are 2 laptops, 2 desktops and a ps3 all running off one connection! On my desktop with a direct connection I get the full 4 megs.

My speeds have been good over the past few days, getting about 500KB/s altogether between multiple downloads and torrents.

Edgbaston here on 4MB - web browsing has been VERY slow all weekend - to the verge of unusable. Strangely, downloads are OK when they get going (up to 500kb speeds or so) but it's getting them going which is tricky - it can take a minute or so for a download to start, but then it's fine once it's underway. For this reason, speed tests always come up fine - the test itself takes a minute or so to start but then it downloads at a reasonable speed. Web pages load, but take forever to load half the images or they're just broken altogether (which makes web browsing particularly annoying...)

We had similar problems last year for about a week where it all went horrible for a while, then 'miraculously' went OK again without us changing a thing. I'm hoping this is what'll happen here... If I recall, last year it was something to with DNS problems or something (not really a techie)

I'm going to email tech support about it anyway if it persists, suggest you do the same?

Still VERY sub-standard web-browsing speeds tonight in Birmingham... seriously, if we had a BT line installed I'd go over to 56k dial-up for a speed increase!

One time you try a webpage, it loads flawlessely and promptly... try the same page a few moments later and it takes minutes, and is then full of broken images.

wish they'd sort it out! :( :( :(
