I am planning to move to non-cable area in B'ham. Currently I have VirginMedia cable connection and it's reliable and never disconnects( I am running a web site). They told they will provide me with their broadband but using a BT line. Can this be as reliable as a cable connection?
Thanks
Virgin through BT phone line is really poor alot of complaints. Your best bet is to go to an Entanet reseller like TitanADSL or ADSL24 they are regarded as some of the best in the market. See here http://www.ispreview.co.uk

The odds are against it.
If they are available in your area Be might be your best option.

I've read bad things about VM's ADSL broadband.
e.g.
http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/12/33612838-adsl-broadband-performance-virgin-media.html
And our very own Chris T had lots of problems too (as he mentions in that thread... can't find his own thread).
Go for a LLU supplier if possible...Be, Sky/Easynet, etc.

That was an eye-opener. thank you all for your help
Any idea which ISP is ideal for self-hosting a web site : static IP, SMTP email server, etc.
Cheers

Thanks, kingabs
I made a decision : I am going with ADSL24 and forget VirginMedia for good
God bless
